He graduated in Turin and took the specialisation and PhD in Milan. He married to a literature teacher and he is father of two children. He is a sports enthusiast (skiing, swimming, tennis) and his favourite team is Turin. He became the manager of oratory football team. He enjoys reading, rock and pop music and travelling. He is socially committed (in 2007 he took part in a humanitarian mission abroad for 3 months in Sudan with Emergency). He can speak English and French. Professionally, he deals with adult cardiac surgery with particular focus in aortic and mitral valve repair surgery, percutaneous heart valve insertion (TAVI), aortic root, ascending aorta and aortic arch surgery. He developed his professional experience abroad at the Toronto General Hospital in Canada and the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia. He is currently Director of the Operative Unit of Cardiac Surgery at the Santa Croce e Carle Hospital in Cuneo.
